6 Steps to Self-Love!

Who couldn’t use a little more self-love in their life?! Here are my top 6 tips on how to better love yourself! ♡

  1. Realize that people can only meet you as far as they’ve met themselves

    • Once you realize and understand this, you will change the way you look at people. Think about it. The way you understand and perceive life is not the same as everyone else. Not everyone else understands or interprets things the way you do. Stop wasting your energy trying to rationalize with people who just don’t get it.

  2. Forgive yourself

    • Seriously. Let go of all the pain and anger you have towards yourself. It’s only hurting you and holding you back. We are human and we all make mistakes. We make mistakes so that we can learn and become better. Stop beating yourself for things you’ve done in the past. Forgiving yourself can be so hard and I find myself still struggling everyday. But then I remind myself that I am human and I deserve to forgive myself. Free yourself. You are an amazing person and you deserve to be completely happy and at peace with yourself.

  3. Start every morning saying at least 3 things you love about yourself

    • Even write them on post-it notes and stick it on your bathroom mirror! It might feel cheesy at first & you may not believe the things that you say, but I promise if you repeat them to yourself every single day, you will start to believe it.

  4. Be mindful of how you speak to yourself

    • What are you telling yourself throughout the day? When something goes wrong, how to do you respond to yourself? Do you get upset & angry? Are you really impatient? Do you beat yourself over little things? Treat yourself the way you would expect someone else to treat you. Speak to yourself with kindness and love.

  5. Give up the need for approval from others

    • Stop looking for the approval from others and do what you want. This is YOUR life to live. Stop living it for other people. It can be hard not to listen to what others are saying about you but honestly, what they think about you is none of your business anyway! Constantly chasing outside validation is going to get you nowhere. Do what you love and don’t bat an eye. The only approval you ever need is from yourself.

  6. Meditate to get to know your thoughts

    • I love meditating. I feel so much more relaxed and at peace with my life with I meditate everyday. Meditation allows me to let go of everything I’m thinking and when thoughts do arise, I can better understand how to handle them. Meditating truly allows you to dive deep and get to the root of your thoughts. Most of the time we are in this constant state of go, go, go we don’t even realize how much we are actually thinking and what we are even thinking about!!

These steps have been so beneficial in growing my relationship with myself. I know how hard it can be to love yourself, especially when times are tough. But you deserve to love yourself and be happy with who you are. Take it day by day and know that I am always here if you need to chat!
